Age and safety
PartyPPL is for people aged 18 and over. This page explains why, how we ask for your age, what happens at the door and what you can do as a parent or guardian.
Last updated: 1 October 20261Why PartyPPL is 18+
You must be 18 or older to hold an account. That fits what you find on PartyPPL:
- Going out. The agenda is about club nights, parties and festivals in the Netherlands and Belgium. Almost every event is 18+.
- Alcohol. These are nights where people drink. At festivals, for example, you see how many tokens a beer costs.
- Adult topics. On the forum and in chats, going out is discussed as it is, including drugs, drug testing and partying safely. Talking about it is fine, dealing is not. See the house rules.
- People you do not know. Press "I'm going" and you can join that event's group chat, together with everyone else who is going; you choose that yourself. Visitors also post forum topics, reviews, photos and videos themselves.
That is why we ask for your date of birth when you log in, and why the app that is coming to the App Store gets an 18+ age rating.
2How we ask for your age
Browsing needs no account. The agenda, event pages, artists, venues, the news and the forum are public.
For anything social or anything that costs money, you log in: "I'm going", inviting, chatting, reacting, liking and buying tickets.
- You enter your e-mail address and get a six-digit code, valid for ten minutes.
- Right after your first login we ask for your date of birth, once. Log in with Apple or with a passkey and you get the same question.
- We work out your age. If you are 18 or older, we store the date and the fact that the check passed. After that we do not ask again.
If you are under 18, we do not accept the date and do not store it. Until the 18+ check has passed you can browse, report and manage your account, but you cannot do anything social or buy anything: every attempt brings the question back. If an account turns out to belong to someone under 18 anyway, we delete it.
We do not ask for an ID document. Your date of birth is what you tell us. If you enter a false date, we may void your account and any tickets; that is in the terms.
We keep your date of birth as long as your account exists. Delete your account and we erase it. More in the privacy statement.
3At the door
For every upcoming event, the event page shows the age limit and the house rules of the organiser or the venue. If none were given, you see: 18+ · ID required · venue house rules apply.
The organiser sets an event's age limit, not PartyPPL. For a PartyPPL account the limit stays 18, even when an event names a different age.
The organiser checks at the door. Always bring a valid ID; it is on the checklist too. A ticket in Apple Wallet or on your Apple Watch is not proof of your age.
If you cannot show ID or you are too young, the organiser may turn you away, even with a valid ticket. You do not get your money back then; see the terms.
4Moderation and safety
- Events
- What organisers and visitors post themselves is checked by the agenda team before it goes live, usually within 24 hours. Events from the public agendas of clubs, festivals and ticket platforms go live automatically; we correct those afterwards.
- Automatic check
- Public text with signals of scams, threats, hate or drug dealing waits until a person has looked at it. Whoever wrote it sees that it is waiting.
- Reporting
- Every chat message, forum post, review, night report, question and answer, photo and profile has a Report button. A person looks at your report, usually within 24 hours. What is and is not allowed is in the house rules.
- Blocking
- From someone's profile or from a message in the chat. After that you no longer see each other's messages and plans, and they cannot find you or add you. Your list is under Friends.
- Private profile
- Set your profile to private in Settings. Then nobody sees where you are going or have been, your friends included, and you are not in search results or in lists of who is going. With a public profile only your friends see where you are going; everyone sees where you have been.
- Deleting your account
- In Settings, under Delete account. You confirm with your e-mail address. Chat and forum posts stay as 'Verwijderd'; tickets and orders are kept for our records.
For something serious, such as a threat, an image of a minor or someone in danger, mail [email protected] with the link right away. In an emergency, call 112.
5For parents and guardians
PartyPPL is not meant for minors. The app that is coming to the App Store gets an 18+ age rating. If Screen Time on your child's iPhone, iPad, Mac or Apple TV limits apps to a lower age, it blocks the app.
The agenda on partyppl.nl can be viewed without the app and without an account. Anyone who wants to chat, press "I'm going" or buy a ticket has to log in, and is then asked for a date of birth.
Think your child has an account? Mail [email protected] with the account's e-mail address or a link to the profile. You do not need an account yourself. We delete the account.
See a photo of a minor on PartyPPL? Use the Report button or mail us the link. Photos of minors are not allowed; see the house rules.

What changed
- A private profile now hides where you are going and have been from everyone, friends included. Report is also on night reports, questions, answers and profiles.
- New: the automatic check of public text, and that a ticket in Wallet or on your watch is no proof of age.
- The group chat after "I'm going" is a choice, not automatic.
