Sources
Where the agenda, the artist profiles, the prices, the maps and the photos on PartyPPL come from, and under which terms. The credits live here rather than on every page.
In short
- Organisers post their nights themselves and visitors submit them; both go past the agenda team.
- We also read the public agendas of clubs, festivals, promoters and ticket platforms, and only fetch what their robots.txt allows. All of them are named on this page.
- We take facts. For some sources we also show their own description; if the rights holder does not want that, we take it down.
- What is missing, Claude looks up. A site map from Claude goes past a person first, and prices elsewhere are an indication.
- Artist profiles, maps and photos come from Wikipedia, Wikidata, MusicBrainz, Spotify, Deezer, Wikimedia Commons and OpenStreetMap, among others, each under its own licence.
A summary. The articles below are what counts.
1Agenda sources
Events are read from the sites and shops of the people who organise them, and from public agendas and ticket platforms: structured data on their own event pages, public feeds and official APIs, including the Ticketmaster Discovery API. Our importer calls itself pppl-bot, works with a fixed budget of requests per round and reads robots.txt first for every page; what it forbids, we do not fetch. We take facts: what, when, where, who plays, what a ticket costs. For some sources we also show the description as the source published it openly itself; if the rights holder does not want that, we take it down through Something wrong.
Our register holds 121 sources right now: 105 for the nightlife agenda, 22 of them in Belgium, 10 for gaming.partyppl.nl and 6 switched off, such as sources whose robots.txt forbids reading them; the nights they gave us before stay on the agenda.

Visitors also submit nights at /aanmelden and organisers publish through the organiser portal. Both go past the agenda team before they appear.
2Completion by AI
What a night still lacks, Claude by Anthropic looks up on the web, starting from the organiser's own site and shop: the poster, a site map, the ticket types, the official shop, what the same tickets cost elsewhere (for example TicketSwap, Tixel or Ticketmaster Resale) and, for festivals, the token price. Claude also writes a description from the facts and helps pick genres.
- A site map found by Claude only goes live after a person has approved it.
- Prices elsewhere and token prices are an indication, with the source and the day they were seen. A token price stays a hint until visitors report their own.
- Only public event data goes to Claude, never anything about visitors.
3Ticket prices
Prices are read from the shops that publish them: Weeztix and Eventix, Paylogic (also the shops of Doornroosje, Paradiso, 013, Fuse, Parallel and C12), Stager, Ticketmaster, Weticket, Ticketmatic, Melkweg and Universe.
From TicketSwap we only read their public sitemap, to link to the right page. Prices never come from TicketSwap. Links to Ticketmaster may carry a partner code of ours.
4Artist profiles
- Wikipedia
- Biographies are the opening of the artist's Wikipedia article, licensed CC BY-SA 4.0. The text on our artist pages carries the same licence.
- Wikidata
- Facts about the performer, such as roles and labels, and the genre, CC0. Never an age. Artists can hide facts themselves.
- MusicBrainz
- Country, city, aliases and the artist's own links, only from the core data under CC0. We do not use its tags or genres.
- ListenBrainz
- Similar artists on the artist page, CC0, together with the related artists of Deezer.
- Spotify and Deezer
- Portraits, releases and covers, from Spotify and otherwise from Deezer. We keep a copy on our own server, so your browser does not contact them.
- Wikimedia Commons
- Portraits from the Wikidata item MusicBrainz links to, only under a free licence. The photographer, the licence and a link to the file are under the photo.
- iTunes Search
- Only to confirm a name and read the genre. No photos, releases or covers from Apple Music.
- Line-ups
- From the sources above, or entered by the organiser.
5Maps
- OpenFreeMap and OpenStreetMap
- The map tiles are served by OpenFreeMap from OpenStreetMap data, © OpenStreetMap contributors, ODbL. Coordinates for venue addresses come from OpenStreetMap's Nominatim.
- Site maps
- From the organiser's own site, uploaded by the organiser, uploaded by visitors or found by Claude. Visitors' and Claude's go past a person first. They belong to the organiser.
6Artwork and photos
Event artwork is the poster the organiser published: the image on the page we read the event from, uploaded by the organiser, or found on their site by Claude. Photos and videos with events are uploaded by visitors and remain theirs. Rights stay with the rights holder: if we use your image and you do not want that, say so and it goes.
A photo of a venue comes from Wikimedia Commons, under a free licence and with the photographer when the licence asks for it, from the venue's own site, or is uploaded by our team. A photo from Commons or the venue's site has its source next to it.
What changed
- 19 October 2026: robots.txt is read for every page, and we say that for some sources we show the source's own description. The count is now computed from the register, with the gaming sources and the ones switched off apart; broad listings such as Partyflock and Ticketmaster are no longer under concert halls; venue photos and a short summary at the top are new.
- Corrected: Apple Music supplies no photos, releases or covers; iTunes Search only confirms a name and a genre.
- New: completion by Claude, the shops we read prices from, TicketSwap only through its sitemap, and Nominatim for coordinates.
- Robots.txt: read for some of the sources, not for all.
